Background

Axiom is one of four preferred suppliers that deal with ALL retained search requirements of Fujitsu Services, Europe. Axiom has a rolling 2-year contract (preferred supplier agreement) with Fujitsu Services to fulfil such requirements on a retained basis. Axiom also delivers other bespoke services to Fujitsu such as targeted search of ‘off-limits’ candidates and a research offering.

 

The Contract

An exclusive and retained contract was awarded by the Human Resources Director of Fujistu Services to find a suitable candidate to fill the above position. This was agreed and signed off on the 4th October 2007. A copy of the Assignment Specification is available on request.

 

Duration of Contract

The timescale of the process is outlined within the contract. The search process and timing of events is put together specifically for each client, depending upon client and candidate availability, and any other commitments. In general, the process will take eight weeks on average to complete.

 

The Services

Axiom deployed its research facility and capability and one full time consultant to deliver the search.

 

The Requirement

Our client was looking to penetrate the SAP market on a European basis and consolidate all activity under one structure. The current practice consists of c2000 SAP consultants and technologists across all the major European countries.

 

The role required an individual to ‘lead’ the team and re-unite a disparate function under one European structure. In addition, the individual was to be tasked with several acquisitions, so would need to be commercially and financially literate and have the gravitas and experience required for such a position.

 

The Solution

We specifically targeted German speaking companies and users of SAP. The target list was drawn up via discussions with the client and our knowledge of the SAP marketplace. It was decided, based on out ‘gap analysis’ of the current market in terms of SAP users and resellers that we should focus on the companies that

had recently won major SAP programmes of work. This was not a ‘usual’ target listing of company names, but a more focused approach based on active programmes of work.

 

The Outcome

The individual appointed was running the industrial markets for IBM within the German speaking countries. He had 25 years experience within IBM and was a board member of the European business unit.
