Assignment for Sony Europe

In the summer of 2010, Sema Dalkilic, Head of Interim at Axiom, was approached by Sony Europe to source a number of interims for a major finance transformation programme being undertaken within the business.
 

The scope of the project was considerable, involving over 35 countries and 20 legal entities with ‘go live’ dates phased over a year. This meant it was essential for Axiom to have a pipeline of suitably skilled individuals throughout the life of the programme in order to meet key milestones.

The resource requirement was for several interims to join the Programme as ‘Country Transition Project Leads’ and Analysts to be responsible for the successful transfer of all finance functions (GL, AP,AR, FA, Tax & Controlling) from in-country finance teams to a new outsourced Centre of Excellence service provider.

The client required individuals with extensive finance process experience including month end closing, accruals/provisions, journals, balance sheet reconciliations, commercial reporting and process, procedures and controls documentation combined with good finance systems knowledge (SAP ERP). The ability to travel extensively within Europe was also key.

Working with her team of researchers/resourcers and fellow consultants at each key stage of the Programme, Sema identified a number of suitable candidates utilising a combination of known candidates, targeted job advertising and referrals from other candidates.   As a result of this work, a number of candidates were hired by Sony and successfully met their Programme deliverables. A number of these interims were subsequently offered new roles on other finance projects within the business.
